Monday and Tuesday 26 and 27 of June we received two researchers from the EU-Openscreen partnersite University of Minho, Centre of Molecular and Environmental Biology (Braga, Portugal), Maria Joao Sousa and Susana Chaves.

They are leading a screening centre employing yeasts model systems for drug discovery and environmental monitoring and are currently increasing the capacity of their facilities. We exchanged our expertise on being a high-throughput centre of EU-Openscreen, discussed common interests and identified mutual benefits of our different screening methodologies. The visit strengthened our relationship, and we planned the necessary steps for promising collaborative projects.
