I+D de Fármacos (USC)

The «I+D de Fármacos» research group at the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Santiago de Compostela, is dedicated to the development of novel therapeutic agents targeting age-related diseases, with a particular focus on neurodegenerative and cardiovascular disorders. Our work encompasses the design, synthesis and characterisation of bioactive molecules with potential pharmacological activity. We also investigate advanced strategies for drug delivery to the central nervous system, including the development of bioconjugates that facilitate the transport of compounds across the blood-brain barrier. Additionally, our research involves exploring structure-activity relationships and optimizing the pharmacokinetic properties of candidate molecules to enhance their therapeutic potential.
